This gold coin is a replica of sterling silver coin minted approximately 2175 years ago (165 - 42 BCE.) in Athens, Greece. 42 BC marks the end of the "New Style" minting era in Athens. Due to the sheer mass of the silver weight, these coins were heavily trusted by merchants throughout the Mediterranean and became one of history's earliest international currencies.

The coin depicts the profile of a helmeted Athena. The second side reveals the sacred owl, poised on top of an amphora (ceramic jar)acting as a timeless emblem of wisdom. Beside it reads the Greek inscription A-ΘE, standing for "of the Athenians". Together, these symbols transform the coin from a simple currency into a lasting tribute to the intellect, beauty, and legacy.
