This gold coin is a replica of sterling silver coin minted approximately 2400 years ago (400 - 350 BCE.) in Cherronesos a Thracian Greek colony in modern day Turkey.
The coin depicts a lion with its head turned back in surprise or irritation. The second side is decorated with a quadripartite square and two pellets.
This coin was thought to be used to support ancient trade along the Black Sea.
