This gold coin is a replica of a bronze coin minted approximately 1930 years ago (81-96 AD.) in Rome.

The coin depicts an African rhinoceros, identified by the two horns. The second side has an inscription in the center “S C” which stands for Senatus Consulto, and has an inscription around the perimeter that reads “IMP DOMIT AVG GERM”. This stands for Imperator Domitianus Augustus Germanicus and translates to “Supreme Commander Domitian, Emperor, Conqueror of the Germans.

The coin commemorates the appearance of a two-horned rhinoceros in the Colosseum for the first time. The embodiment of a “star performer” mindset represents the rhinoceros’ supremacy in the arena as well as a metaphor for the invincible success of the emperor.
