This gold coin is a replica of sterling silver coin minted approximately 2370 years ago (350 - 325 BCE.) from Larissa, Thessaly in modern day Northern Greece .
The coin depicts Larissa, a water nymph of the local spring. As Thessaly was a plain filled land know for horses, the back depicts a grazing horse.
Larissa is thought to be the place Hippocrates died.
